Jazz Band
DixieMix Jazz Band, one of the UK’s top Traditional jazz ensembles, was formed in 2006 by trumpeter Simon Nelson and have seen great success over the years playing at many prestigious jazz clubs and festivals throughout Europe as well as numerous TV appearances. In 2014 the band was chosen to support Rod Stewart as part of his sell out UK stadium tour playing to 25,000 people a night!
Having produced seven albums to date DixieMix loves to put its own twist on great classic jazz standards and always delivers their music with enthusiasm and humour. The 6 piece band can adapt to many lineups and DixieMix are excited to be bringing a quartet to perform as part of the Guernsey Street Festival this year.
Singer/Guitarist
Faolán Griffin is a solo musician and singer songwriter who has established themselves in the Guernsey music scene in the last few years. Their unique powerful vocals are known to captivate an audience and Faolán performs regular gigs across the island with haunting originals to upbeat cover songs. Faolán has an ever-growing repertoire of venues at which they have performed. This includes Castel Cornet, Vale Earth Fair, The Deerhound, to pubs such as The Yacht Inn and the Thomas De La Rue to name but a few. Faolán released their debut single ‘One Day More’ in 2023 which has held its own on streaming platforms and on local radio stations. Faolán is available for gigs, parties, and weddings. Band
The Graduates are a dynamic four‑piece born out of The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, now taking the stage with infectious energy and a crowd‑pleasing set of upbeat, instantly recognisable covers. Their performances are polished, lively, and guaranteed to get audiences singing along. Each member is a seasoned professional musician, and you might even spot a familiar face among their two standout female vocalists.
Singing duo
Often seen performing as solo artists both on the street and stage, husband and wife duo Mike and Lydia will be bringing some jazzy easy listening to the streets for you all to enjoy in the form of their act ‘Sullyside Up’. Singing some songs you all know and love (and perhaps some you may never have heard of!) they hope to provide you with some happy vibes and a snazzy time whilst you jaunt your way through the streets of St Peter Port.
Superheros, pirates, fairies and much more
Our character actors perform every Saturday and will be playing games, interacting, giving free temporary tattoos and judging the fancy dress competitions.
Last year we had characters such as Spiderman, Cinderella, Anna, Elsa, Dr Who, Princess Leya, the Fairy Godmother, Little Red Riding Hood, Hermione Granger and many more!
Facepainting
Charli Andrews is a talented face painter set to bring color and creativity to the Guernsey Street Festival this year. She’s already made her mark—last year she took home the prestigious Jack Honeybill Festival Spirit Award in recognition of her vibrant artistry and infectious enthusiasm. Get ready for bold colors, playful features, and a whole lot of fun with Charli’s brushes at this year’s celebration!
Majorette Troup
The Guernsey Majorettes were set up in 1992 and have been a favourite at local events for many years. The troup boasts 5 age groups, mainly based on school years, of whom the older members attend competitions in the UK twice annually.
Singer/Guitarist
Mickey is a Guernsey based singer, songwriter and performer with a distinct style and sound. He performs an eclectic mix of songs ranging from jazz standards, through folk and blues to acoustic takes on modern indie classics. His original songs combine evocative, poetic lyrics with catchy and tuneful melodies that belie the depth of meaning is his songs. With a smooth, soulful voice and an intricate and quirky guitar style he gives off a laid back vibe that that is both captivating and easy on the ear.
We're a “not-for-profit” organisation committed to the promotion of community spirit, the encouragement and showcasing of local talent, and celebration of visiting artists and street entertainers. We're creating a platform for performers and artists of all genres, skills and ages to promote themselves to the people of Guernsey and to promote Guernsey to visitors.
During the festival there will be multiple locations around St Peter Port that will be set up for our performers and artists.
